Delete Your Account

Option 1: delete it yourself, in the app or on the web

You can do this yourself at any time. There is no need to contact us and no waiting period.

In the mobile app (iOS or Android)

  1. Open the VA Rating Assistant app and sign in.
  2. Go to the Profile tab.
  3. Scroll to Delete account.
  4. Type DELETE to confirm, then confirm again when prompted.

On the web

  1. Sign in at app.varatingassistant.com.
  2. Open your Profile page.
  3. Scroll to Delete account.
  4. Type DELETE to confirm, then confirm again when prompted.

Either route does the same thing. Deletion begins immediately, you are signed out as soon as it completes, and it cannot be undone.

Option 2: request deletion by email

If you cannot sign in, email support@varatingassistant.com from the address on your account and ask us to delete it. We will confirm your identity, delete the account, and email you when it is done. You can also write to us at 522 W Riverside Ave STE N, Spokane, WA 99201-0580.

What is deleted

  • Your account and sign-in credentials.
  • Your profile and the information you entered into it.
  • Every document you uploaded, including medical records and VA forms.
  • Data derived from those documents that we control, such as extracted condition information and generated documents.
  • Documents you generated in the app, such as buddy statements and nexus letters.

What is kept, and for how long

  • Backups. Copies may persist in encrypted backups on a rolling overwrite cycle of roughly 30 days, after which they are overwritten.
  • Security and audit logs. Retained for a limited period for security and compliance. Records tied to you are anonymized rather than kept in identifiable form.
  • Billing records. Where tax or financial law requires it, we keep the minimum transaction records, with personal details pseudonymized.
  • Legal holds. If we are legally required to retain specific records, we restrict access to the minimum necessary and delete them when the obligation ends.

If you do not delete your account, uploaded documents are removed on the schedule in section 8 of our Privacy Policy, which is 90 days on Free and one-time plans unless an active storage subscription extends it.

Deleting the app is not the same as deleting your account

Removing the app from your phone does not delete your account or your data. Use one of the two options above.
